I try to meet the needs of each individual learner by accommodating the various modalities. I also create groups at the beginning of the year so that students can can collaborate on various assignments throughout the year. I incorporate technology in the classroom daily. One example of this would be the use of iPads for labs. This has actually helped to save money especially with the Anatomy & Physiology course. All Anatomy & Physiology labs can be completed at Biology Corner. There are also tissue slides available there for students to identify. I have created lab sheets for each lab. Students must complete the lab sheets by accessing the online lab and working through each set of procedures. This is also a growing area in the chemistry coursework too. One final example of the use of technology would be the incorporation of you tube. This is now a go to when I need to show specific concepts in the classroom especially when I can tell that the student's are not synthesizing the content being delivered. I also incorporate the Prezi's which basically cover all of objective eight. I assign students various topics that are inclusive within the standards. The students really enjoy completing these once they get the hang of it and are also exposed to a variety of technology resources that are available to them before they are off to college.
